Rising Threat of ‘Spoofing’ Targets Facebook Users

With rapid technological growth, online scams are also evolving. One common method is spoofing, where criminals impersonate trusted platforms to steal personal information.
Recently, Facebook users have been targeted through fake “Forgot Password” emails. Victims receive two emails that look official, but one actually comes from a fake company called Failbook. By entering login details there, users unknowingly hand over their accounts to scammers.
Experts warn that spoofing works by creating fake websites that look identical to real ones. Logging in on such sites exposes passwords and sensitive data.
Cybersecurity specialists advise users to stay alert, avoid clicking suspicious links, and always verify the source before sharing any information online. Two-factor authentication is also recommended for extra safety.
