Uber to Add Helicopters and Seaplanes to Its App

Uber is set to revolutionize ride-sharing by allowing users to book helicopters and seaplanes directly from its app. The service, launching next year, is being developed in partnership with electric air taxi maker Joby Aviation. Joby recently acquired Blade Air Mobility, a well-known passenger transport service, bringing air travel under one umbrella.

With this feature, booking an air ride will be as simple as booking a car. Uber says it will make city travel faster and smarter, especially on routes like airports where saving time is crucial.

While exact routes and fares haven’t been finalized, Blade’s current prices suggest an average of $195 (around BDT 22,000) for a ride from Manhattan to JFK or Newark airports.

The service will first roll out in major global cities, with plans to expand gradually. Uber believes this will offer passengers a premium experience free from traffic and delays.
